Frequently Asked Questions
In Giclée printing (pronounced Jee'clay), no screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern. Archival grade inks ensure the image has all the tonalities and hues of the original painting. High quality acid-free paper and premium canvas prevents yellowing or fading with age. The Giclée printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction. A Giclée canvas print has the look and feel of the original piece.
All Giclée prints offered on this site are produced from high resolution digital files using archival inks. This combination of fade resistant archival inks and chlorine free paper or premium canvas produces prints with a color guarantee rating of over 50 years. Prints are made to order and are personally inspected, signed, and numbered by the artist. Each print is shipped insured with a certificate of authenticity containing detailed information about the print.
All paper prints include a three inch border on all sides to assist in matting and framing the print. All Giclée canvas prints include a border large enough for stretcher bars.
The prints are not framed. No option to purchase framed prints is available at this time. PLEASE NOTE: The artist is not responsible for damage due to the negligence of the buyer or framer.
Prints that are signed “AP” or “Artist Proof” are sought out by many collectors. An artist proof is a test print that shows the colors, hues and quality that make up the final print. Artists run a low number of “artists proofs” in order to view how the image is going to print. The artist’s proofs are not given place in the normal limited edition count. They are offered in their own limited edition quantity. Traditionally, an artist is not suppose to sell his/her proofs immediately after printing them. Serious art collectors often want artist proofs because there are fewer of them which makes them higher in value. However, it is important to note that artists’ proofs are not better in quality than the regular print edition.
